The Toy Retailers Association Dream Toys Lists Christmas 2009

The Toy Retailers Association (TRA) has once again released their dream toys lists for Christmas 2009 as they do every year in late October featuring three different top toys lists as below. We have reviewed many of these toys already on our Christmas toys website but will review & compare prices on all the others in the coming weeks.

Perhaps the greatest thing about Go Go Hamster toys is that they do not poop, die or smell. These real hamster look a like’s are cute and furry just like the real thing. They also do everything a real hamster can do.

There are four of these hamsters Chunk, Pipsqueak, Squiggles and Num Nums. Chunk is the cool hamster. He is a surfer who likes to relax and “chill” alone or with his frineds. He also likes to stay out of the limelight. Pipsqueak is a small powerhouse who is not afraid of anything. She is very curious and loves to play, explore, slide and run. Squiggles is a very particular hamster who’s been seen a lot of things and a done a lot of things and is still around to remember them. He is always on a mission to explore and then explore some more. Numnums is super fuzzy and you can depend on him for love and laughs. He is the hamster with the best nose and can smell hamster goodies, like vegetables, a mile away.

Go Go Pets Hamsters are sure to become one of the top selling toys ever. Each one has its own personality and sounds. They have a “loving mode” in which when you pet them they squeak and chatter, and a “explore mode” that lets them scamper, bump and scoot around on the floor on through their Hamster Habitat. They all run on 3 “AAA” batteries that are included and weigh less than half a pound. They measure 6″ x 4.1″ x 2.5″. There is an assortment of accessories available that your child will be asking for as soon as he gets the hamster. These include a wobble ball; sleep dome and surfboard play set, skateboard and U-turn play set, a hamster wheel and tunnel play set and a hamster car and garage play set. These Go Go pets are about as close as you can get to a real hamster without buying the real thing.

The Elmo Live Toy is the newest addition to Fisher Prices already great line up of toys, especially Elmo toys. This Elmo toy looks exactly like your children see him on television. He really seems to come to life. He can open and close his mouth, sing and giggle. His head moves back and forth, as he speaks also. He is activated by pressing his tummy, foot, nose or tickling him. He can even wave his arms, cross, and uncross his legs. He sits, stands and plays games with your child also. He even tells jokes.

You will be amazed at all the Elmo Live Toy can do. He will even tell your child stories with different voices and hand motions. He has built in sensors that react to touch and voice. He will ask for kisses and hugs and tell you he loves you. If you tickle him, he laughs. His mouth moves as he sings. When he falls he asks you to pick him up and even thanks you when you do it.

One of his great features is that he goes into battery savings mode when laid on his back and even says he is tired as he goes to sleep. He definitely encourages creative play with all of his interactive moves.
Fisher Price’s Elmo Live Toy is recommended for children aged 18 months and up. He is 8″ x 11″ x 15″ and weighs 3.8 pounds. The Elmo Live Toy runs on 6 AA batteries that are actually included when you buy it.

Waybuloo is the newest hit show from cbeebies for pre-school aged children and has been called the new Teletubbies. The show stars four computer animated characters, the Piplings. They are named Yojojo, Nok Tok, Lau Lau and De Li. They all live together in a Japanese style garden, which is in the magical world called Nara, which is a land full of laughter and companionship. A variety of toys has become available for your toddler featuring these characters.

There are two jigsaw puzzles one with 15 pieces and one with 24 pieces. The 24 piece features a picture of all of the Piplings while the 15 piece features Di Li alone. There are two play sets available one featuring Lau Lau and one featuring Yojojo. The Lau Lau set features her and her artist’s studio. It includes four play pieces and a lifting feature in the tree so that Lau Lau can float off the ground. The Yojojo one features him and his music studio with four play pieces and the same feature as Lau Lau’s that allow him to float off the ground.

Also available is the Waybuloo Lau Lau Figure Set. It includes a figure of Lau Lau herself along with her art easel and basket of tools so she can make gifts for her friends in Nara.

For all the doll lovers there is a Peek and Wiggle Yojojo. He is a large plush toy that talks. When kids squeeze his tummy, they hear phrases from the show and his ears even wiggle. The Waybuloo Peek and Pull Lau Lau covers her ears and eyes for playing peek-a-boo.

There is also a large assortment of DVD’s of the hit TV show available along with coloring books and regular books featuring the characters.

All of these Waybuloo toys are great for the youngest of children from as early as 12 months.

Hasbro’s FurReal Lulu My Cuddlin’ Kitty is one of the newest in the line up of animatronics toys from this company. FurReal Lulu the Kitty toy is the closest thing to a real cat as you can get. She sits in your lap and cleans herself. As your child pets her she even rolls over. Her head and ears move and her eyes blink.

Her fur is white and marmalade and when you pet her, she even purrs and meows to show she is content and happy. She has pretty green safety eyes that open and close. She licks her paw and then lifts it to clean her face. This is actually a very realistic and impressive move for a toy that is so reasonably priced.

This toy is very interactive and comes with a comb and adoption certificate. Her fur is very easy to comb for even the littlest groomers. It runs on 4 “C” batteries that aren’t included and measures 9.0″ x 13.75″ x 9.63″ and weighs 3.7 pounds. It is recommended for ages 4 and up.

She is a great gift for little girls to help teach pet care and kindness to all animals. It is also an option to getting a real kitten if your kids have been asking for one, for a while at least. It is also great for those kids who have allergies and cannot have pets. Hasbo’s FurReal Lulu My Cuddlin’ Kitten is so realistic you will find your friends taking second looks.
