VTech Crawl and Learn Bright Lights Ball
VTech Crawl and Learn Bright Lights Ball
The VTech Electronic Company has developed a range of toys that take a child through the various stages of growth, beginning at the earliest ages of 0-36 months. One such toy designed for ages 6 months and older is the VTech Crawl and Learn Bright Lights Ball.
This large, colourful round ball comes equipped with an internal motor which runs on battery, and allows the ball to roll around on the floor, making baby reach for or crawl towards it. When “caught” the child can push on its various buttons causing lights to flash and melodies and sounds to play.
The ball allows your child to learn the following activities:
1. Turning on the ball will activate the ball into motion while lights flash and sounds and melodies play. When held, your child can feel the ball vibrate, and when placed on the ground, the ball will roll around and wobble, allowing your child to reach for and go after the ball.
2. By turning the ladybug button near the top of the ball, your child will hear sounds and melodies.
3. At the top of the ball and on the sides near the bottom are light-up buttons that, when pressed, allow your child to hear the names of shapes, recite numbers, and learn the names of insects, all while melodies play simultaneously.
4. And when your child presses the animal buttons situated around the center of the ball, he will learn the names of animals as well as what sounds those animals make. Again, while these buttons are being pushed, melodies will play simultaneously.
All the actions in the VTech Crawl and Learn Bright Lights Ball combine to elicit your child’s awareness of colour, sound, and texture while developing his imagination and his hand/eye coordination.

Fisher-Price Stacking Surprise Peek A Boo Choo Choo
Fisher-Price Stacking Surprise Peek A Boo Choo Choo
We recently purchased the Fisher-Price Stacking Surprise Peek a Boo Choo Choo for my son on his first birthday. Right out of the box it was one of his favorite toys of the day! He has had it for a week now and it continues to be his favorite toy. The toy is a colourful choo choo train that has an engine and one car. The vehicle also comes with many different blocks that your child can play with and stack in any number of ways. One of my son’s favorite things about the train is that when he presses on the smokestack the train really comes to life with dancing lights and music, and other various playful sounds. My one year old isn’t quite dextrous enough to actually stack the blocks in all of the correct places, or one on top of the other, but when I was playing with the train, and yes I was having fun too, there are some other cool features.
When you stack the four character blocks on the train’s building surfaces and then push the train along the face blocks come to life, bouncing up and down. The blocks have faces painted on them and when I showed this feature to my one year old he was very excited to push the train around and around while the faces went up and down and the music played. This train is a great toy for a small mobile child. Actually, my three old likes to play with it with his brother too. Its a lot of fun to watch them use it together. I would recommend the Fisher-Price Stacking Surprise Peek A Boo Choo Choo to anyone with a small child in the market for an exciting and fun toy with lights and sound.

Timmy Time – Night Night Timmy
Timmy Time – Night Night Timmy
Night Night Timmy is more than a cute stuffed animal; he is a night time companion that will help your child fall asleep with ease. Little Timmy from the hit new television show for pre-schoolers, Timmy Time, is a 3 year old bundle of love that can relate to the hard day your own bundle of love needs to sleep away at nigh.
When you lay that little lamb down next to your child, Timmy closes his eyes and starts to snore. If you press the ultra soft tummy, he will “Baaa!” just like the Timmy your child knows and loves. He also comes with his very own teddy bear that you can attach to his hoof with Velcro. This adorable and cuddly little lamb comforts you child and encourages them to fall asleep.
Of course, Little Timmy does not snore throughout the night. After moments of inactivity, the voice mechanism shuts down to avoid disturbances while your child sleeps.
The only possible downfall many parents who purchased Night Night Timmy can relate is that the toy offers no educational value to their child. While it is important to incorporate toys that promote learning, Night Night Timmy is a soothing and comforting animal that focuses on sleep, not learning. Bedtime is a time to relax after a day of soaking up knowledge. Night Night Timmy is simply an adorable companion that can relate to the lives of toddlers.
If your child is one of the many avid Timmy Time fans, Night Night Timmy is the perfect addition to their collection of cuddly toys. With it being so soft and comforting, you may find yourself wanting one yourself to relax after your day!
